Bibhutibhushan Wildlife Sanctuary

  • Bibhuti Bhushan Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Gangsara village on the banks of Ichhamati river in North 24 Pargana district of West Bengal.
  • Established in the year 1980, this sanctuary was earlier known as Parmadan Van. In the year 1995, this sanctuary was named after the famous Bengali writer Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyaya.
  • The Parmadan forest located in this sanctuary is a major destination for migratory birds besides providing a safe haven for about 300 deer.
  • Recently 90 spotted deer from Bibhutibhushan Wildlife Sanctuary have been brought to Sundarbans Tiger Reserve.
