UPSC Prelims Exam Previous Years Cut-Off

• As per the previous years data, the cut off marks for UPSC prelims have decreased across all categories.
• The following table shows the category wise cut off from the year 2018 till date.

UPSC Mains Exam Previous Years Cut-Off

• There are a total of 9 question papers in this exam.
• Out of these, 7 question papers form the merit ranking, which includes-
  • Essay
  • General Studies-1
  • General Studies-2
  • General Studies-3
  • General Studies-4
  • Optional Subject (Paper – I)
  • Optional Subject (Paper – II)
• The remaining two papers, namely English Language Paper and Indian Language Paper, are of qualifying nature.
• The mains exam is of a total of 1750 marks excluding qualifying papers, which forms the cut-off.

• The final merit is made by adding the marks of mains exam and interview.
• The mains exam is of total 1750 marks and interview is of total 275 marks.
• Thus the final merit is prepared out of total 2025.
