  • Bumble bees belong to the genus Bombini which are mainly found in temperate climates. With an average length About 1.5 to 2.5 cm. they are black in color with a broad yellow or orange band.
  • They usually make their shelter on the ground in uninhabited bird or mouse nests.
  • Bombus species are social bees, with each nest containing a female bee and other male and worker bees.
  • According to researchers at Queen Mary University of London, bumble bees show social change in their behavior by observing and learning from other bees.
