  • Gongadi Shawl is a traditional woolen shawl woven by the indigenous Kuruma and Kuruba communities of Telangana.
  • The wool of the indigenous Deccan sheep locally known as Nalla Gorre is used in its manufacture.
  • It is manufactured organically without using natural or synthetic colors.
  • Gongdi shawls have been used by alumni of National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad to manufacture all-weather footwear for farmers.
