Jharokha

  • Jharokha is a 'festival of traditional Indian handicrafts, handlooms and art and culture'. It is being organized for the first time in Bhopal from March 8, 2022 (on the occasion of International Women's Day).
  • It is organized by Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Textiles as part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.’ It is being organized as pan-India festival in 13 states and union territories.
  • Handicrafts and handloom products from across the country will be displayed in the ceremony and women who have contributed significantly in promoting and reviving it will also be honoured in this program.
  • This is the first program dedicated to womanhood and the contribution of women in the field of arts, crafts and culture. Under this, a Literary Corner will be set up focusing on the local art, culture and festivals of all regions of the country, which will reflect 'Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat'.
