Pet Coke

Pet coke is a carbonaceous by-product obtained from the oil refining process. Along with fuel, it is also used for the manufacture of lithium-ion batteries.
It is a spongy, solid by-product of petroleum distillation that can be used as a fuel similar to coal.
Due to high calorific value and ease of transportation and storage, it presents a substitute for coal.
The government has allowed the import of pet coke as a raw material for lithium-ion batteries.
