Autism Spectrum Disorder

  • Autism or Autism Spectrum Disorder is a serious mental illness, Which is caused by the nervous system being affected. This makes the patient unable to communicate. Its symptoms start appearing from 2-3 years of age.
  • Children suffering from this disease do not react by hearing their name. In addition to this, when playing, Patients faces trouble in understanding the expressions of others or expressing their feelings specially when they come in contact with someone or while playing. These children take more time in speaking and learning the language than normal children and repeat the words or phrases repeatedly.
  • Its symptoms and severity vary from patient to patient. It is difficult to diagnose, because it can only be examined based on the child's behavior and development. Although younger children are more likely to have autism, they may be subjected to an audiological evaluation and screening test. If the treatment is started with clinical examination on time, it can be controlled to some extent.
  • The exact cause of this disease is not yet known, but studies have shown that it is likely to be related to genetic and environmental factors. This causes abnormal levels of serotonin or other neurotransmitters in the patient’s brain. The disease is likely to occur during the early development of the fetus due to a genetic defect.
