Quaoar

  • Quaor is a dwarf planet found in the outer Solar System beyond the orbit of Neptune. It is also known as Trans-Neptunian objects.
  • Its surface is composed of low density ice mixed with rock. It takes about 288 years to make one revolution of the Sun.
  • It is about one-twelfth the diameter of Earth, one-third the diameter of the Moon, and half the size of Pluto.
  • Astronomers have discovered a ring made of dust and debris similar to Saturn around this dwarf planet which is an exception to the Roche Limit theory associated with the Solar System.
