Statue of Equality

  • A 216 feet high 'Statue of Equality' in the memory of 11th century Bhakti saint Sri Ramanujacharya will dedicate to the nation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 5 in Hyderabad.
  • The 'Statue of Equality' is made of five metals, which include gold, silver, brass, copper and zinc.
  • This statue is the second tallest metal statue in siting position in the world after the Buddha statue in Thailand.
  • The idol is built on a 54 feet high base building called 'Bhadra Vedi'. The building houses dedicated buildings for ancient Indian texts, research centre, theatre and educational gallery along with Vedic digital library, detailing various works of Sri Ramanujacharya.
  • It has been conceptualized by the saint Sri Chinna Jeyar Swami of Sri Ramanujacharya Ashram. The inauguration of the Statue of Equality is a part of the 12-day 'Shri Ramanuja Millennium Celebrations'.
