  • Uttarakhand government released the GEP index.
    • It became the first state in the country to launch it.
  • This index is based on parameters like water, forest, land and air quality.
  • It takes into account the economic value of the ecosystem in GDP.
  • It aims to establish harmony between ecology and economy.
