Fit India Carnival organized in New Delhi

Why in news?

• The Fit India Carnival is being organized at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi from March 16 to 18, 2025.

Key Points:-

• Promoting health and fitness:
  • The main objective of this event is to inspire citizens to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle.
• Fit India Movement:
  • This program inspires citizens to become more fit and contribute to building a healthy, obesity-free nation.
• Khelo India Para Games:
  • The mascot, logo and anthem of the upcoming Khelo India Para Games (March 20-27) will be unveiled at the event.
• Cultural and traditional performances:
  • Traditional martial arts like Kalaripayattu, Mallakhamb and Gatka will be performed during the event.
• Entertainment and Music:
  • Cultural programs, live DJ music and band performances will be organized on the theme “Fitness through Dance”.
• Fit India Movement:
  • Launch: 29 August 2019
• Initiated: By Prime Minister Narendra Modi
  • Aim: To raise awareness about health and fitness across the country and motivate citizens to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
