Kashi Tamil Sangamam-3

Why in the news?

• Kashi Tamil Sangamam-3 is being organized from 15 to 24 February 2025.
• Objective- To further strengthen the historical ties between Tamil Nadu and Varanasi.

Importance of cultural relations:

• According to the government-
  •  This event will make the youth understand the importance of these cultural relations.
  •  The country will move further in the direction of 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat'.

BHU and IIT Madras got the responsibility:

•  IIT Madras in Tamil Nadu is preparing for this important event.
•  BHU (Banaras Hindu University) will host this event in Varanasi.

Amrit Snan in Mahakumbh:

• The students and teachers involved in this event will get a special opportunity to take 'Amrit Snan' in Mahakumbh.
• Along with this, there will also be darshan of Ram temple in Ayodhya.
• The main objective of this Sangamam is to make the youth aware about this,
  • So that contact and dialogue between people in different fields can increase and mutual understanding can be promoted.

The event is being organized from the year 2022:

• On the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kashi-Tamil Sangamam is being organized from November 2022.
• Various ministries and departments participate in this event led by the Ministry of Education.
