As part of the centenary year celebrations of its founder Ramnath Goenka, the Indian Express Group instituted the Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Awards.
The awards have been held annually since 2006.
The awards aim to celebrate excellence in journalism, recognise courage and commitment, and showcase outstanding contributions and individuals each year.
The most prestigious annual event in the Indian media calendar, pays tribute to those journalists from print/digital and broadcast.
Maintain the highest standards of their profession despite facing political and economic pressures,
Still manage to produce work that builds and sustains public trust in the media and impacts people's lives.
