Uttar Pradesh Budget 2025-26

Key Points:

  • A budget of Rs 8,08,736 crore was presented in Uttar Pradesh for the financial year 2025-26.
  • This is 9.8% more than the budget of FY 2024-25.
  • This is the fourth budget of the Yogi 2.0 government and the biggest budget of UP so far.
  • The fiscal deficit is 2.97%  (91,399.80 crores).
  • The total debt on the government so far has increased to Rs 9,03,924.54 crore; the debt in 2024-25 was Rs 8.16 lakh crore.
  • The GDP of Uttar Pradesh is estimated to be Rs 27.51 lakh crore in FY 2025.
  • According to RBI, Uttar Pradesh has the highest share in tax receipts among all states in the country.

The following allocations are made to various sectors:

  • Infrastructure development: 22% of the total budget (highest)
  • Education: 13%
  • Agriculture and allied services: 11%
  • Medical and health: 6%
  • Social security programmes: 4%
