    • Now the daily wage will be highest at ₹374 in Haryana and lowest at ₹234 in Arunachal Pradesh.
  • Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGA):
    • It is a demand-based wage employment programme.
    • It was started in the year 2005 by the Ministry of Rural Development.
    • In this, a legal guarantee of minimum 100 days of employment is given in every financial year.
    • Its objective is to provide employment to unskilled workers.
    • There is a provision to provide employment within 15 days of demand for work.
