BPSC 72nd CCE Prelims Exam 2026 – New Exam Pattern

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) will conduct the 72nd Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) for recruitment to various administrative posts in the Government of Bihar. Under this recruitment drive, a total of 1186 posts (revised from 1230) will be filled.

Selection Process
The selection process consists of three stages:
- Preliminary Examination (Prelims)
- Main Examination (Mains)
- Interview
The Prelims exam is only qualifying in nature. Final merit is prepared based on Mains and Interview.
BPSC 72nd CCE Prelims Exam 2026: New Exam Pattern
- As per the updated BPSC rules, Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) will now have 5 options (A, B, C, D, E) instead of 4.
- Option E = “Not Attempted”
- If a candidate does not want to attempt a question, selecting E is mandatory. Otherwise, it will be treated as unattempted.
- Leaving a question blank without selecting any option will attract negative marking of 1/3 marks per question.
