• Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi is on her maiden official visit to India (1–3 July 2026) to hold the 16th India-Japan Annual Summit with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 
• The summit aims to strengthen cooperation in trade, investment, semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), critical minerals, clean energy, defence, and the Indo-Pacific, while reviewing progress under the Special Strategic and Global Partnership.
