• Recently, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan unveiled 'The Teacher App' in New Delhi.
• Its aim is to enhance the professional development and educational quality of teachers.
• Through this app, teachers will be able to get access to various educational resources, courses and training programs.
• This platform has been developed by Bharti Airtel Foundation.
• Using this, teachers can share their experiences and learn from each other.
• There are more than 260 hours of resources on this platform.
•  These include:
  • Curriculum, learning bytes, short videos, podcasts
  • Interactive formats like theme-based fests, webinars, competitions and quizzes

Ministry of Education:-

• The Ministry of Education is a ministry of the Government of India.
• It is responsible for education related work in the country.
• Its main objectives are to formulate and implement the National Education Policy.
• Its functions include improving the quality of educational institutions and increasing their reach.
• The current Education Minister is Dharmendra Pradhan.
• India has had a Ministry of Education since 1947.
• In 1985, the Rajiv Gandhi government renamed it the Ministry of Human Resource Development (Mo.HRD).
• With the newly created "National Education Policy 2020" by the Narendra Modi government, it was again renamed back to the ‘Ministry of Education’.
