  • It is the world's largest iceberg in Antarctica.
  • In 1986 it was separated from the Antarctic Filchner-Rhône Ice Shelf shoreline.
  • An island of ice formed as it became stuck at the bottom of the Weddell Sea.
  • It has started growing again after 30 years.
  • Its area is 4000 square km, i.e. three times larger than New York.
  • It is moving towards South Georgia Island.
