Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) is a 14-digit number that helps users to digitally share their health records with registered healthcare providers.
Edelweiss General Insurance has partnered with the Union Ministry of Health to help create a digital health ID for all people in the country. Users can generate their unique ABHA number through the Edelweiss website.
It will help people access medical diagnosis, treatment and financing from verified healthcare providers and payers across India.
'ABHA' is the first step towards creating a digital health record. This is currently optional. The National Health Authority is the apex body responsible for implementing this program under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission.
