Agni-5 missile

  • The first flight test of this indigenously developed missile has been successful.
  • It is India's first and only intercontinental ballistic missile.
  • The range of this surface-to-surface missile is more than 5000 km.
  • It is equipped with Multiple Independently Targetable Vehicle (MIRV).
    • A single missile can hit multiple targets.
    • Its speed is Mach 24.
  • Canister technology has been used in its launching system.
    • With this the missile can be easily transported anywhere.
