  • India has launched its own crash test rating evaluation system to assess road safety and car standards. The new norms will come into effect from October 1.
  • Included in the evaluation-
    • Adult Occupant Protection (AOP)
    • Child Occupant Protection (COP)
    • Fitment of safety assistance technologies
  • Three tests will be done for this-
    • Frontal Impact Test
    • Side Impact Test
    • Side Pole Impact Test
