The 'Climate Equity Monitor' dashboard has been launched by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. It will provide an online platform for internationally acknowledged disparate impacts of climate change, inequality in emissions, energy and resource consumption across the world, and ongoing climate policies of several countries.
The aim of this initiative is to debunk the narrative provided by developed countries and global non-governmental organizations that constantly demand more commitment and action from developing countries. The assessment will also reinforce the concept of the IPCC's cumulative emissions and carbon budget.
This dashboard was developed by 'MS Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF), Chennai and National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS) Bangalore in collaboration with other independent researchers.
