Dermatomyositis

  • This is a rare type of autoimmune disease.
  • This disease affects both muscles and skin.
  • Its symptoms:
    • Muscle swelling
    • Red rashes on the skin
    • Physical weakness and fatigue
  • It is seen more in two main age groups-
    • In children, whose age is between 5 to 15 years
    • In adults, aged between 40 and 60 years
  • This disease is seen more in women than in men.
