- It is a clean and green alternative to petrol.
- Its mixture includes-
- 92-94% ethanol
- 4-5% motor spirit
- 1.5% co-solvent higher saturated alcohol
- The CO2 emitted during its combustion is almost equal to the CO2 absorbed during the growth of crops.
- Ethanol:
- It is a bio-fuel.
- It is prepared from maize, sugarcane, wheat etc.
- It is produced through fermentation process.
