To test the operational readiness of satellite systems and personnel manning them, the Indian Army carried out Exercise Skylight. This is the first exercise of its kind.
It aims to validating and showcasing the resilience of its communication capabilities in case terrestrial connectivity is disrupted in future conflicts.
Various agencies responsible for space and ground segments, as ISRO participated in the exercise. Indian Army uses many satellites of ISRO. These are used to connect communication terminals.
