Navratnagarh

  • Navratnagarh is a historical site located in Gumla district of Jharkhand state. The history of the Mughal Empire and Nagvanshi kings is hidden here.
  • King Durjanshal of Nagvanshi dynasty made Navratnagarh his capital and built a fort here for protection from the Mughals. It is also known as Doisagarh.
  • There is a moat around the fort and the only way to enter here was through the hill. In the excavation of the Archaeological Department, many secret buildings and palaces have been found under the ground here.
  • Navratnagarh, recognized as a World Heritage Site, was discussed in the 100th episode of Mann Ki Baat.
