Nicobari Hodi

  • Hodi is a small and light boat which is a traditional craft of Nicobarese tribe. Its length is about 12 times more than its width.
  • It is made using locally available trees and its design varies from island to island.
  • It is used as a means of transport from one island to another, for fishing and boating.
  • Recently, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Tribal Development Council has applied for grant of Geographical Indication to Nicobari Hodi.
