  • It originates from Lai Haroba, a festival of the Meitei community.
  • In this, the roles of female actors are played by men, who are called 'Nupi Shabi'.
  • In women's theater groups, men's roles are played by women.
  • Through this theatre, efforts are made to promote humanism, tolerance, justice etc.
