Son Doong Cave

  • Son Doong Cave is the largest cave in the world. It is located in Quang Binh province in central Vietnam. It is about 400 to 450 million years old.
  • It was discovered in the year 1991 by a local forager Ho Khanh. It is now part of the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park (A UNESCO heritage site).
  • Its total length is 9 km. and it has the largest cave passage of any cave on the Earth.
  • It includes about 150 different caves, a dense underground forest, and several underground rivers.
