Recently the chairman of the National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI) has launched three new initiatives - IP Guru, NIXI Academy, NIXI-IP Index. In addition, NIXI has announced to play a supporting role for the IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6) awareness and adoption in the country.
IP Guru (IPv6 Expert Panel)- This will help all the Indian entities who are finding it technically challenging to migrate and adopt IPv6. With it the entities will help end users by providing necessary technical support to adopt IPv6. It's a joint effort of the Department of Telecom and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. It comprises members from government and private organisations.
NIXI Academy- It is created to educate technical/non-technical people in India to learn technologies like IPv6 which are normally not taught in educational institutions. Through this academy Internet community will be able to learn from various technical modules.
NIXI-IP Index- It has been developed by NIXI for the internet community. It will showcase the IPv6 adoption rate in India and across the world. This portal will motivate organizations to adopt IPv6.
