Tunicates

  • Researchers have discovered fossils of tunicates that are about 500 million years old.
  • This fossil has been named Megasiphon Thylakos. The two main genera of tunicates are the Ascidians and the Appendicularias.
  • Tunicates are a genus of marine invertebrates found in the shallow waters of the oceans.
  • Two siphons in its body which allow it to feed and excrete water.
