Utkarsh is a three-year medium-term strategic framework of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to improve regulation and supervision of banks. The first strategic framework related to this was launched in the year 2019.
It mainly focuses on to bring excellence in the performance of statutory and other functions of RBI, strengthening the trust of citizens and institutions, internal governance driven by transparency, accountability and ethics and environment-friendly digital and physical infrastructure.
Recently, the second phase of the central bank's medium-term strategy Utkarsh 2.0 has been launched to strengthen the regulatory and supervisory machinery.
