Veerangana Durgavati Tiger Sanctuary

  • It has become the seventh tiger reserve of Madhya Pradesh.
  • The other six are Kanha, Bandhavgarh, Satpura, Pench, Panna and Sanjay-Dubri
  • Madhya Pradesh has the highest number of tigers (785) in the country.
  • After this come Karnataka (563) and Uttarakhand (560).
  • Madhya Pradesh has retained the status of 'Tiger State' in the 2022 animal census.
