Bhutan: First country to adopt crypto payments in tourism

  • In May 2025, the Bhutan government has launched a revolutionary crypto-based tourism payment system in partnership with Binance Pay and DK Bank.
  • With this move, Bhutan becomes the first sovereign nation in the world to officially integrate crypto payments into the national tourism policy.

  • This initiative sets a historic precedent globally, as it marks the confluence of blockchain and tourism sectors.
  • The system facilitates payments through over 100 cryptocurrencies, ensuring a cashless and seamless travel experience for international tourists.
