On June 22, the US attacked Iranian nuclear installations, which has been named 'Operation Midnight Hammer'.

About Operation Midnight Hammer

- What is it: In this operation, the US targeted three nuclear plants of Iran, Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan.
- In this 25-minute operation, American B-2 bombers dropped GBU-57 'bunker buster' ammunition on Iran's nuclear plants.
- After that, 30 Tomahawk cruise missiles were fired from an American submarine.
- For the first time, America has used the 15-tonne GBU-57 bunker buster bomb.
- Flight from airbase: The warplanes took off for 18 hours from 'Whiteman Air Force Base' (Kansas, USA), which is 6,900 miles away from Fordo, Iran.
- Iran's reaction: Iran criticized this act and also launched a missile attack on the US Al-Udeid Air Military Base in Qatar. It is the largest US military base in the Middle East and the forward headquarters of the Central Command. Also, an American military base in Syria's Hasaka province has been attacked.
- US military bases are spread across Qatar, Bahrain, Iraq, Israel, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Syria and the United Arab Emirates.
