Nagaland Governor L. Ganesan passed away at the age of 80. He was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai for the last several days and was kept under close observation in the ICU. The Governor's Office officially confirmed his death.
His political life and contribution
L. Ganesan was born on 16 February 1945, Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. He joined RSS in his childhood and became a full-time pracharak in 1970.
Joined BJP in 1991 and played an important role in the Tamil Nadu organization; later he became the National Secretary.
He was the President of Tamil Nadu BJP from 2006–2009.
He was interested in literature; founded a literary group called "Portramarai" and edited the BJP magazine 'Ore Naadu' for more than 25 years.

Manipur: Governor from 27 August 2021 to 19 February 2023
West Bengal (additional charge): 18 July 2022 to 17 November 2022
Nagaland: Took office on 20 February 2023 and remained in the same post till 15 August 2025. He became the first Governor of Nagaland to die while in office.
Constitutional role:As Governor, he maintained a balance between the central and state governments, promoted development and social harmony by communicating with many stakeholders.
