NITI Aayog has launched the Platform for Aggregating Clean Transport (PACT) to accelerate the adoption of electric trucks and promote zero-emission freight transport in India.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has unveiled a three-year roadmap and vision document aimed at making India “drug-free” by 2029.

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has tightened the enforcement of rules governing the number of mobile connections that an individual can hold in India. From 24 August 2026, telecom service providers are required to identify subscribers who have already reached the prescribed limit of mobile connections and prevent them from obtaining additional connections beyond that limit.

In this context, NITI Aayog has released its new report 'Rethinking Homestays: Navigating Policy Pathways' on 22 August 2025, which suggests a model policy framework for the states to develop an inclusive and sustainable homestay ecosystem in the country.

On July 11, 2025, the Central Government announced a special allocation of ₹500 crore to incentivise the purchase of electric trucks under the Pradhan Mantri e-Drive initiative.
